A video recorded at a petrol station at Taman Nirwana, Ampang, caught the attention of Malaysians recently, showing two boys filling up a black Honda City with petrol.

While that doesn’t sound out of the ordinary, what’s alarming is the fact the engine was still on, and one of the doors was open while they were refuelling the car.

Circulating online, including in this post by VideoViral Malaysia on Facebook, one of the boys can be seen refuelling the car while the driver, presumably his parent or guardian, was sitting inside the vehicle.

As the boy was fuelling, another boy, believed to be his younger brother, then joined in to help refuel the car by disembarking from the front passenger seat.

While they were doing this, one of the car doors was open, something that could prove to be dangerous while refuelling as it can cause static electricity on rare occasions.

Worse, the car’s engine was on the whole time the two kids were filling the petrol into the car, which could potentially lead to a fire.

Thankfully, nothing unwanted happened, and after refuelling the vehicle, both boys returned to the car before the driver drove off from the petrol station.

The individual who recorded the video expressed his concerns

Throughout the video, the voice of the man recording the video could be heard expressing concerns about the driver letting the kids refuel the car while the engine was on.

He asserted,

“These kids must be only around 8 years old. Refilling the car like this can cause an explosion. Don’t they (the driver) love their children?

“If you want to teach your children, teach them properly,”

Meanwhile, in the caption, the original poster wrote,

“Negligent… Endangering children’s lives…”
