The Johor State Legislative Assembly Member (ADUN) for Skudai, Marina Ibrahim, is calling out able-bodied individuals who are lazy while highlighting how a differently-abled elderly man has been working hard to earn a living for himself.
Taking to her Facebook page, she shared how the uncle had brought her buns and pastries after being unable to go around to sell them following a fall.

She shared the conversation she had with the elderly man, where she questioned why the uncle was giving her the pastries rather than selling them.
“I’m giving them to you as a Hari Raya gift. I can’t sell right now. I’m sad because I fell while being chased by a dog. I was walking at night, and a dog chased me. Maybe because I’m old and poor, so it attacked me,” the uncle told Marina.
“Adoi, this is the first time I have heard of dogs chasing a person for this reason.”
“If you are healthy and still strong but lazy, you should feel ashamed compared to this uncle.”
“I’ve known him for years. He is differently-abled (OKU), strong, tough and works hard in life without excuses. (He had a) stroke (that affects) one side of his body, but he drags his leg without ever giving up,” she shared.
Not just hard working but also ingenious

Marina also highlighted how the uncle crafted his own walking stick, fitted with multiple lights, so he could see clearly and be seen while walking at night. It also has a handle to carry his bags.
“(This is) a special (walking) stick created by Uncle Pek Jit. This uncle works diligently, never giving up even though he is differently-abled,” she added.
