Indonesian Teacher Investigated for Showing Porn Videos & Making Sexual Gestures to His Students in Class

An elementary school teacher in Sabu Raijua regency in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, caused outrage in the country after he showed pornographic videos and photos, as well as made sexual gestures to his 24 students in class.

A police report against him uncovered the shocking incident, though as of the time of writing, he has yet to be arrested by the authorities.

According to the Indonesian portal Detik, the local police received a report about the teacher’s actions on 14 May.

Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Commissioner Hendry Novika Chandra, said that the suspect showed pornographic videos to 24 of his Year 6 students.

Furthermore, he also showed pornographic photos to the students, as well as used his hands to make sexual gestures to the children. The incident took place inside a classroom of the Lobolauw elementary school.

Sabu Raijua Police Chief Paulus Naatonis said that the police have since interviewed 10 of the 24 students.

IDN Times reported that the victims are receiving counselling from psychologists following the incident.

However, the teacher has yet to be arrested because the investigation is still ongoing. Paulus asserted,

“We are still waiting for the results of the psychologist’s examination and the alleged criminal act,”

The suspect’s smartphone has also been seized to assist in the investigation.
