Some people believe that there is a power in our name while others think that our destiny is tied to our name.
One Malaysian woman has shared on the Facebook page named Xuan Play, about how in her bid for love, she had changed her name 3 times.
The post started off with her saying, ” I have always believed that my name is not auspicious enough and that it cannot bring me good luck. My name is Chen Jingyi and I am already 35 years old but still very single.”
Chen laments that the people who like her are always too shy to confess while the people that she likes never like her back and this situation bothers her greatly.
So, in order to turn the situation around, she believes that changing her name would do her good, so she changed her name to Chen Jingyi (but with a different set of Chinese characters).
After a while, nothing much changed and she was still single, so she changed her name again to a different set of Chinese characters that still makes out Chen Jingyi.
“This name change still did not change anything, I am still spending my weekends alone,” she continued.
As she had no results from the name changes, she started looking for stories online about how people changed their names and found love. However, after the search, she was more confused than ever as some said that they encountered true love while others lived just the same.
Now, she is conflicted on whether she should continue changing her name or just accept her fate.
“Perhaps I should stop, try to accept myself and believe that fate will bring me the romance that I want. But maybe, true love will be waiting for me in the next name.
“Regardless, I will be moving on with hope in my heart,” she said at the end of the post.
Naturally, the netizens had a lot to offer in the comments.
“What you need is not to change your name, what you need to change is your lifestyle! If you are not in the right environment, how can you meet the right person?”
“Have you ever thought that it might not be the name?”
“The first thing is to change yourself.”
Well, love in real life is not like in the movies where a Prince Charming comes and sweeps you off your feet. In reality, it only comes when you give enough love to yourself. We hope that Chen will be successful in her quest for love.
