Imagine being that bored during lockdown!
Clint Butler, a prisoner who had served 14 years of a 17-year sentence for robbery and weapons possession escaped Spring Hill Prison, Buckinghamshire on 28 November 2020. However, on 13 January 2021, Clint was arrested by the British police and also received the brand of being an “idiot” due to the nature of his arrest.
After evading the police for more than two months, Clint and his friend were arrested when he went out of hiding to purchase a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War according to West Midlands Police.
“I’ve come to get the new Call of Duty because I can’t sit around in lockdown.”
The police first got suspicious of the fugitive when they noticed Clint out and about during lockdown, looking shifty when he noticed the police. When the police questioned him, he kicked one of them in the groin and attempted to flee but they were quick to apprehend him.
He gave a false name before finally admitting who he was and that he escaped from HMP Spring Hill open prison in Buckinghamshire. The police couldn’t believe that the man would actually come out of hiding to buy the video game.
“Why he decided to risk being returned to prison by making the idiotic decision to come into town during lockdown with a friend to buy a video game will remain a bit of a mystery.”
We get how bored one can be during the lockdown, but please make sure to stay indoors. (ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE A CRIMINAL!)
