According to Rahmat, vice president of Kedah/Perlis Branch of Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), this step has been taken as a means to cushion the decline of tourist arrivals and the cancellation of bookings by many. In order to spice things up, Rahmat also informed the public that the promotion, which can be seen on websites and social media, will be available until further notice for three-star and above hotels. This means that a RM250 stay would now only cost RM150!

To further assure the public, he noted just how safe the island is for visitation, especially after hosting Le Tour De Langkawi 2020. 

Since the epidemic, this would seem to be a breath of fresh air for all.
