A video of two drivers quarrelling near a toll booth in Penang has surfaced on social media.

Although the original video lacked context, a follow-up social media post later shed light on what actually happened that day.

The incident began when a shirtless man emerged from a blue Perodua Bezza and confronted another driver in a Honda Civic. Amusingly, the confrontation started with both men showing off their martial arts moves before being stopped by bystanders.

A netizen who shared the video explained the cause of the altercation:

“This can happen to anyone, as there are dangerous people on the road. As my family member approached the toll exit, a Perodua Bezza suddenly swerved from the emergency lane and overtook my family member’s car from behind.”

They explained, “He honked at the Bezza driver, which irritated him to the point that he rammed into my family member’s vehicle.”

“My family member signaled for the Bezza driver to pull over after the toll exit to discuss the matter. But instead, the Bezza driver threw a sword-like object (a rotan stick) at his car, escalating the situation.”

Both drivers then stopped at the toll exit and began arguing. Fortunately, a bystander intervened before the situation could spiral further out of control.

But the story didn’t end there. “A police report was filed, and it turns out the man had just been released from jail.”

“We’d like to thank the Good Samaritan who shared his dashcam footage, which not only captured the entire encounter but also the weapon used.”

“We also want to thank the truck driver who stepped in. The Bezza driver sped off, and no counter police report was filed afterward,” they added

The netizen concluded by expressing concern:

“It’s unsettling to know that road bullies like this are sharing the roads with the rest of us.”
