As MCO season 2 comes into effect, the rules in Malaysia become more intense as a means to battle world war covid.
For one, there are only 15 industries that are considered as essential services. There was initially only 10 of them, but updated today by the His Majesty’s Government Gazette, there is now 5 extra essential services. So if you’re not under any of these industries, it simply means that you better be keeping that 10km radius from home.
Sounding more and more like house arrest ain’t it?
These are the 15 essential industries:
- Food
- Water
- Energy
- Communications & Internet
- Security & Defense
- Solid Waste & Public Cleansing Management and Sewage
- Health and Medical (Dietary supplements included)
- Banking and Finance
- E-commerce
- Logistics confined to the provision of essential services
- Transportation by land, water or air
- Port, dock, airport services and undertakings (including stevedoring, literage, cargo handling, pilotage and storing or bulking of commodities)
- Production, refining, storage, supply & distribution of fuel and lubricants
- Hotels and accommodations
- Any services/works determined important or critical to public health or safety by Minister
Besides that, MCO 2 is also stricter toward all those that intend on leaving home. So unless you’re going out for to purchase or supply food, daily necessities, medicine, dietary supplements, seek healthcare or medical services, perform any official duty, or perform any duty in relation to the essential services, you ain’t going nowhere, and if you still insist, then a night in jail should straighten you right out.
