As we all know, the country is currently facing the next Covid-19 wave with a huge number of cases detected daily. Although we are told not to panic and continue to follow SOPs diligently, you cannot help but worry about the whole situation. Sabah is by far the state that is affected the most by the new wave and the hospitals and frontliners there are struggling to cope.
Knowing this, a group of volunteers have stepped up to assist Hospital Beluran by building isolation rooms for Covid-19 patients. A good soul by the name of Lina Klasik on Twitter shared that she and a group of people are currently at the hospital to build these rooms by themselves as they need to ensure that the cost is minimized.
Lina also shared that even the staff of the hospital are actually doing much of the work themselves without the help of the proper authorities. They even collected funds among themselves to buy the materials for the isolation rooms. More isolation rooms needed to be built outside the building as the hospital is not really big and might not be able to cope with the number of new cases.
Those who are interested in lending a helping hand can reach Lina on Twitter. Hopefully, more and more volunteers step up to help our brothers and sisters who are currently facing the wrath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
