A Malaysian man was recently heartbroken and shocked to find that his kidnapping in Bangkok had been planned all along.

The mastermind behind the kidnapping turned out to be his friend of 10 years!

The 37-year-old man, identified as Law said he was contacted by the said friend in April this year and was surprised because they had not spoken to each other for quite some time. In a Facebook live video, Law shared what it was like when he reached Bangkok, and how he fell for the trap.

“He did invite me for a meal, which was supposed to be on him. Then, he invited me to Bangkok for a religious festival and a holiday but the best part was, he said the trip was on him.”

Law was excited and didn’t think much before accepting the offer, despite NOT securing a ticket flight back home.

“I was beaten and tortured, without my friend in sight”

When Law landed in Bangkok on May 7, Law’s friend brought him into a car but he quickly passed out after drinking a bottle of water.

When he was awake, it dawned upon him that the “trip to Bangkok” had turned into an unwanted trip to Burma, which was never meant to be a holiday at all.

“When I was awake, I saw 4 men from China and a Malaysian man. 1 of them asked for RM50,000.”

Law was trapped and throughout the time, he was beaten with sticks and metal bars and also suffered cuts on his neck and arm. According to him, he was not the only victim at the scene. He saw a few other victims who were trapped for the same reason.

Law did not explain how he managed to escape the grip of the criminals, although he mentioned who he met during his escape.

“I met a Burmese soldier who could speak BM. He protected me for 2 weeks before I was brought home by the representatives of the Malaysian Humanitarian Organisation (MHO).”

Law made his way home safely yesterday (July 9) to KL. He tried to contact his “friend” again, but the number was not in service.

Everything that Law experienced sounds similar to what the job scam victims went through after being kidnapped by a syndicate.

When will this syndicate meet its end?
