I guess this is a story he’ll never get tired of telling!

A groom in New Delhi still managed to say his vows despite being shot on the way to his wedding on Monday evening (19 November).

The 25-year-old groom was shot in the shoulder and then rushed to the hospital immediately, where doctors stopped the flow of blood but the bullet could not be removed as it would require a major surgery, according to BBC.

Being all bandaged up, the groom returned to his bride-to-be a few hours later and proceeded with his wedding rituals. His priority was to make it official with the love of his life!

The two suspects who shot the man were believed to have arrived on a motorbike before the incident. As the groom was being escorted by his family and friends to the wedding, the suspects jumped into the groom’s horse-drawn carriage and shot the victim.

The groom claimed that he was shot with the intention to kill.

“The injured groom immediately informed his brother who took him to Batra Hospital for treatment,” deputy commissioner of police Vijay Kumar told reporters.

He returned to the hospital after the ceremony was over. The suspects however are still at large. Unfortunately, this case isn’t the first of its kind at an Indian wedding.

According to NDTV, a groom was shot dead in northern Uttar Pradesh during his wedding in April. The incident was even captured on film, with the groom clutching his chest with both hands before slumping forward.
