When you’re working in any company large or small, you’re bound to come across someone, a boss or a colleague that you truly do not align yourself with. The most common thing that we do when in that situation is talk bad about them with our friends on WhatsApp.

Recently, a German court has decided that insulting your employer or colleagues on WhatsApp can potentially lead to dismissal, reports The Sun Daily.

It is said that insults or racist remarks even when said in private WhatsApp groups can cause someone to be fired when the messages become public, ruled Germany’s Labour Court after a case.

This case involves a group of friends and 2 siblings who all work at an airline named TUIfly. The officials did not show the messages that were sent but just said that they were “blatant insults”

In the course of a few years, the group insulted each other and also some of their colleagues who were not in the group. The comments were said to be mostly “racist, inhumane and sexist statements and calls for violence, with talk of “punching people in the face”.”

This only managed to come to light after a chunk of their chat history was copied and sent to the works council and personnel manager. The company then dismissed them following that.

Well, this certainly sounds like a good dismissal considering that they were being racist, sexist and overall just having terrible character.
