Nearly all Malaysians love fried chicken, and when we get our fix at a fast-food restaurant, chances are we want to get a bang for the buck meal for the price we pay (read: humungous pieces).

But sadly, sometimes our 3 piece set looks more like 3 chicklets accidentally stepped into the deep frier.

One netizen, revealing himself to be a former KFC staff shared vital information on what you should do if the chickens you receive are not up to your liking.

Sharing the post, one netizen writes, “For KFC lovers take note! If you receive small chicken, ask for an exchange or a refund.”

But before you do that, you must not touch your chicken!

Instead, bring your purchase to the counter asking for an exchange and if it’s still unsatisfactory you can always ask for a refund.

Even if you get your bird via drive-thru, can still check your purchase there and then. But before you do that, request the drumstick and wings be put on top of the heap for easier checking.

According to the ex-staff, the micro chickens we tend to receive at KFC is a result of poor quality control.

There is a four-step standard operating procedure that takes place [during chicken cleaning], and if followed, chickens of such sizes would not have even made it through the first stage.”

If you’re worried about pissing the cashier off, one branch manager stepped up to the plate to say that KFC is more than happy to make the exchange.

“It is almost impossible for branch managers to ignore this request. As managers, we tend to stray away from confrontation.”

So the next time you find your chickens a little on the small side, be rest assured that the staff is more than willing to make the exchange for you!
