Two days ago, parents of the missing Franco-Irish teenager Nora Quoirin confirmed that the body of female Caucasian – which was found 2km from the resort – was indeed their daughter.
Malay Mail reported that Nora’s body was found in a sleeping position by a stream with “her head on her hands”, according to the hikers who initially found her before the police arrived. They were quoted as saying,
“It looked like she was sleeping, but we all knew she was dead. We did not approach (her) but stood about 15 metres away and our team leader called the police. I could see the body.”
Despite this revelation, the police have reportedly declined to give any comments on the condition of Nora’s body when she was found. Another hiker, Yeap revealed that Nora seemed unharmed even though there were several scratches on her arm including some bruises.
Following that, French authorities have opened a “criminal investigation into her case for kidnapping”. Sankara N Nair, the Quoirin family’s lawyer in Malaysia, said that the attorney-general has the right to order a probe for Nora’s death and sudden death cases will typically result in an investigation.
Nevertheless, he shared that he welcomes the French investigation, and he hopes that the Malaysian police force will do everything in their power to help them. That said, no foul play elements have been detected in the case.
Well, looks like we’ve got to keep an eye out for more information on this case as the authorities are still conducting their investigations.
