A foreign man who showed an obscene gesture at 2 Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers on duty was arrested outside of Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, last night (August 31), where the incident took place.
The man had given the officers the middle finger behind their backs and recorded the act.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya shared that a preliminary investigation found that the incident happened in front of the shopping center at about 12:15am.
The officers came to realise the man’s actions after a video of the incident was uploaded to Twitter.
“Following that, the police have arrested and opened investigation papers on the 39-year-old non-citizen male suspect.”
“The man involved has now been remanded for 3 days starting today, to assist with the investigation under Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955 and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” he said.
He added that the police has since advised members of the public to not get involved in any offenses which potentially violates the laws of the country.
Perhaps it’s best that we keep our fingers to ourselves.
