The movement control order (MCO) has been extended to 12 May, which means that the high demand for food deliveries will last for another two weeks and who knows even longer than that.

In the past few weeks, you would have seen many heart-warming stories about the dedication and sacrifice food delivery riders have made to ensure Malaysians get their food at home, and now with the frequent thunderstorms that come almost every evening in certain parts of the Klang Valley, these food riders are still pushing through to get food to their customers.

One example to prove this is a Food Panda rider who was delivering food on a rainy day. A netizen posted some photos of him and narrated what happened.

The road was wet and he had slipped, causing his motorcycle to tip over and him to fall off his bike. Passers-by around the area helped him up, but he did not care about whether he injured himself or not.

Instead, he immediately went to check on his food box to make sure everything was still intact before picking his phone from the ground.

The netizen then urged Malaysians not to complain when food riders are late in delivering their food and to not cancel their orders halfway.

“Try to understand the nature of their work first. They are really hard working,” the netizen said.

These food riders are doing their best to get food delivered to their customers. The best we can do is wait patiently for our food to arrive and to refrain from cancelling on any orders.
