Fireworks can make or break a celebration. If it’s done in a safe manner, it can bring so much joy and colour to a festive celebration.

But, when it’s done in a not-so-safe manner, well, the best case scenario is that no one gets hurt while the worst case scenario is that people may die.

Businesswoman, Nurul Syazana Syahieran II, took to the MYNEWSHUB Twitter page to share a video of an incident at Sungai Petani, Kedah, where fireworks exploded out at a public space, causing people to run for their safety.

Nurul Syazana wrote, “A Sungai Petani problem. Thankfully, there were no casualties. But this is worrisome, it happened right in front of us. It’s a good thing that my stock of products didn’t burn. Ya Allah, (I now have a) phobia (of this).”

“All of my staff also had to run away to save themselves as they were worried about getting hit by the fireworks.”

In the video showcased, a large amount of fireworks could be seen exploding all at once from what appears to be a stall.

Some of it even flew at the general public, causing them to run while others got into their cars to drive away.

While we’re happy that no one got hurt from the incident, that was only purely because of luck and people could have gotten seriously injured.

We genuinely hope that the authorities investigate what caused this so that everyone can assist in preventing such a dangerous situation from happening again.
