It’s a norm to have fireworks during major celebrations such as ushering in the New Year.

However, for those handling the fireworks display, this can be a dangerous situation.

According to a post on the MYNEWSHUB Twitter page, a man in Port Dickson allegedly lost his life after the fireworks display that he was handling had exploded unexpectedly.

They wrote, “A firework explosion incident near Pusat Peranginan Lexis Hibiscus, Port Dickson, yesterday afternoon (December 31). Based on sources from the public, a few staff members were making preparations for a fireworks show for New Year’s Eve before the fireworks exploded.”

In the video, someone could be seen running away as the fireworks exploded on a rooftop. Immediately after the smoke cleared, a group of people appeared to rush over to help a staff member handling the fireworks display who did not manage to flee from the explosion.

They also used a fire extinguisher to put out any remaining flames from the fireworks display.

Unfortunately, the staff member did not survive the incident and passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the man’s loved ones during this trying time.
