An alleged misunderstanding between a car wash staff member and a father and son duo resulted in chaos that almost escalated into a physical altercation.

Dashcam footage of the incident, which was shared on The Viral Stories, showed the father and son duo angrily confronting the car wash staff member and accusing him of being arrogant.

At one point, the father even tried to swing a plastic chair at the staff member. Thankfully, someone behind him managed to grab the chair before any harm could be done.

According to a report by China Press, this all started due to a misunderstanding of hand gestures.

The staff at the car wash had gestured for the father and son duo to move their car while handing them their car key, as the services done to their vehicle had been completed.

The son entered the car to move it, but his father, who was still outside the car, didn’t seem happy with the hand gesture and confronted the staff member. He also banged on his car window and called for his son, who got down from the car and rushed to his father’s aid.

Despite the staff member’s attempts to explain his hand gesture, the father and son duo got increasingly agitated and continued shouting at the staff member.

The father then picked up a plastic chair and swung it at the staff member, but someone managed to stop him.

Fortunately, other car wash staff managed to de-escalate the situation and calm both parties down.

People at the scene also clarified that the staff member merely gestured to indicate that their vehicle had been cleaned and could be moved out of the shop. But, due to the gesture being misunderstood by the father and son duo, a dispute broke out.
