If you’ve been to Japan before then you’ve probably heard about Ichiran Ramen, which is a popular and established ramen chain there. It’s so famous that people are willing to stand in long queues to sample their yummy Tonkotsu ramen. Now, you’ll be pleased to know that Ichiran Ramen will be available in Kuala Lumpur for the very first time but they will be serving the pork-free version instead.
That’s right, now you don’t have to travel all the way to Japan to eat the delicious ramen. Ichiran Ramen will be having their first-ever pop-up store in Isetan KLCC in March and this will be ongoing for 10 days. The pop-up store will be open to the public from 13th March 2020 until 22nd March 2020.
If you’ve never eaten there before then you’re in for a treat. One of the interesting things about their outlets is that you can eat in single booths without having any human interaction, even payment is done with a machine. Plus, you can customise your ramen entirely to your preference, from the taste of the soup right down to the cha siu.
The popular chain was established in Fukuoka about 50 years ago and they grew in popularity over the years due to their springy ramen noodles soaked in a bowl of their hearty tonkotsu broth full of umami. However, the version they’re serving in Malaysia will be pork-free. Add on a creamy soft-boiled egg and flavourful cha siu and you got a winner there.
Their outlet in Shibuya has a constant queue as people eagerly line up just to taste the awesome ramen. They organised a pop-up store in Singapore last year and it was a hit, with more than 500 bowls being sold per day. Whoa, that’s crazy!
Make sure to head on down to Isetan KLCC from 13th March to 22nd March if you want to eat some delicious ramen!
