A total of ten people consisting of one family in Perlis were infected with the PUI Sivagangga Cluster, according to a report by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) today (7 August).

The results of the investigation found that one of the family members (case 9054, second-generation case) is a regular customer of the stall belonging to case 8976 which is the first generation case of this cluster. Then he went on to infect his other nine family members.

All ten new cases did not show any symptoms and were admitted to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, Perlis for treatment. To date, Perlis has recorded eleven new positive cases including one case reported on 4 August 2020, a case which also came from the same family member.

We would like to remind our readers to please practice proper SOPs when you are out of your house. Keep your distance and please avoid crowded places if possible. We cannot take this lightly and we should do everything that we can to prevent the next wave.
