The Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) has gone to their official Facebook page to warn Malaysians from falling for fraudulent advertisements online that claim to be able to renew and issue licences without taking a proper JPJ test.

“JPJ would like to insist that any affairs related to driving licence, motor vehicle licence (LKM) and changing vehicle ownership that does not follow the procedure set by the government, IS NOT VALID,” they wrote in their post.

In the fraudulent advertisements, individuals claimed that they were able to issue legitimate licences without having to take the official JPJ test for as low as RM390. The licences would be recorded inside the official JPJ system and were supposedly 100% original.

“Don’t have time to take the JPJ test? Do you keep failing the test over and over again? Not capable of taking the test? If you’re facing any of these problems, we can help you get your licence WITHOUT TAKING A SINGLE TEST,” wrote one of the advertisements.

People are advised to steer away from these claims and to not fall victim to these scams. They also include a link to their complaint channel (http://jpj.spab.gov.my/eApps/system/index.do) where you can visit and file complaints.
