Before you start reading this, take a seat. This is serious!

If you have been smoking or thinking of picking up the habit, you might want to reconsider it, especially for all the men out there.

Although smoking cigarettes can be calming to many, you might be stressed even more after finding that out it might lead to the shrinkage of your penis.

According to urologist Marc Laniado, smoking could cause erectile dysfunction and even the reduction in their penis size. He explained,

“To have a firm erection, you need sufficient blood flow. Smokers have a higher incidence of artherosclerosis in all blood vessels, including those in the penis, which can reduce blood flood.”

He then added that the chemicals in cigarettes could also have an effect on firmness. Nicotine can cause blood vessels to shrink — temporarily at first — but eventually permanently. He elaborated,

“But also sometimes people say that their penis is getting shorter as they get older, as smoking stops blood flowing through the penis, which stops spontaneous and nightly erections that are needed to stretch the pening and keep it at a good length.”

The specialist concluded that smoking could, in fact, make your penis smaller. Further information on the phenomenon can be read at Medical News Today.

So guys, maybe it is about time for you to stop the habit and pick up something more beneficial, like picking up a sport or frequent gym visits. Let’s do this together and live a healthier life!
