This sounds like the stuff nightmares are made of.

An elderly woman in Melaka was bitten on the leg today by what she initially thought was a lizard but it turned out to be a crocodile.

According to Buletin TV3, Faridah Abd Ghani, 65, said that at around 6am, she stepped out of her house located in Kampung Balik Batu, Tanjung Bidara, and was immediately bitten on her leg.

“Mak cik just stepped out of the door and was surprised to feel that there is something biting my leg.”

As it was still dark and she could only see a silhouette of the creature, she thought that it was a lizard that bit her and called for her children at the top of her voice.

“My son came and looked at it carefully, it was then that we knew that it was a crocodile and not a lizard.”

It is said that the baby crocodile measuring 30cm was stationary with its mouth open and the elderly woman’s son used a dishcover to trap the croc before calling the Civil Forces.

The elderly woman added that she had seen crocodiles swimming on the nearby beaches before (her house is located near the beach) but they had never gone up to the house before.

A Civil Forces team was dispatched to capture the croc and the reptile was handed over to PERHILITAN.
