The rainfall that started early this morning (June 20) caused flash floods in several areas in Klang & Shah Alam.
As of 10 AM, Selangor Irrigation and Drainage issued an alert and warning level in Kampung Jawa and Pandamaran, respectively, which you can refer to the organisation’s website as they update from time to time. Taman Desa Kemuning in Shah Alam, however, has been put under the “Danger” zone.
The water level also rose around 8 AM in the housing area at Kota Kemuning and Jalan Kebun in Shah Alam, forcing residents to move their vehicles and other items to higher ground. A Facebook post by Radhiah Kassim also shows the housing area in Jalan Kebun affected by the flood.
In videos shared by Renjer Hairi, the flood also occurred on the KESAS Highway at the Kemuning toll plaza, causing massive congestion in the area as the motorcycle lane was also affected.
According to Utusan and a video by Facebook user Muhammad Razi Mat Yusof, in Klang, water overflow was reported on the main roads of Bandar Puteri, Sentosa, and Bulan Simpang Lima. Traffic congestion was also reported along the main road up to Johan Setia.
Meanwhile, a check of river water levels around Klang found that a station recorded a warning level reading of 2.18m in the Sungai Aur sub-basin, Sungai Klang in Pandamaran.
