Akmal Saleh’s father had passed away this morning due to old age (July 11).

The death was confirmed by the UMNO Youth Chief himself via a Facebook post, who said that his father, Saleh bin Lempah, breathed his last at 9:10 AM today. The funeral is scheduled to take place at the Ar-Rahim Mosque in Merlimau, Malacca, after the completion of Friday prayer.

“When death comes, no one can delay or hasten it, even for a moment,” Akmal wrote in his post.

In another Facebook post on June 29, Akmal revealed that his father was in critical condition in the hospital and sought prayers from everyone. In the post, Akmal also expressed his hope for everyone to forgive his father for his mistakes.

Cikgu Saleh was 66

Over the past year, Akmal has been sharing tidbits of life with his late father, fondly known as Cikgu Saleh by others, including the moment when the UMNO Youth Chief carried his father to the barber after his movement was rendered limited due to a stroke. In the post, Akmal also revealed that his father had not been able to move for the past eight years.

Last year, Akmal was among the recipients of the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka, awarded in conjunction with Malacca Governor Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam’s 75th birthday, which granted him a Datukship.

He immediately rushed home to share the award with his parents, and said they were the individuals who truly deserved the award for raising him.

Cikgu Saleh was 66. Additionally, Berita Harian reported that he passed away with his family by his side.

Our condolences and prayers to Akmal Saleh and his family members.
