Make sure you’re always on standby after you placed your order!
If you’re a delivery rider, it’s probably in the job description that you would have to brave treacherous weathers some days when you’re delivering your orders. Four months ago, an Instagram user posed a question of whether you will not order your food online if it’s raining. A delivery rider responded that customers should not stop ordering when it’s raining as that’s when they can boost up their salary.
Despite this, the least we can do after ordering food online during a storm is to wait by the gate to make sure the rider doesn’t get drenched waiting for the customer. TikTok user LaparPerutKu posted a video of a GrabFood rider waiting in the rain for quite some time as his customer didn’t show up.
“This is their rice bowl, show them some pity. If you order food while it’s raining, be alert when they’re coming. Don’t make them wait too long in the heavy rain.”
TikTok users chimed in with their comments with one of them being a delivery rider himself who said situations like these are normal in the lives of riders.
“This is what we riders go through all the time. No matter rain or shine, we go through it just for the sake of a customer but sometimes there are certain customers who don’t understand what we go through on the way.”
“Some customers complain when their order comes late when it’s raining but when the rider is on time, these customers just leave them in the rain.”
