Sometimes when we enter luxury item stores, it gets a little comfortable with how leery the sales assistants are. It gets worse when you get ignored by them.

Recently, a Singaporean woman who has moved to America brought her mother to Rome, Italy. During the trip, her mother had visited a Dior store alone and was allegedly disrespected, according to her TikTok video.

“She ignored my mum and refused to show her anything that she was asking for. My mum was standing there for 10 minutes and saw her serving a completely different family while she was still waiting there.”

The woman, Amadea, then told her mum it’s because of the nature of their job, which allows them to get commissions from their sales and that her mum was dressed plainly so it looked like she was “completely poor”.

Amadea then brought her mother back to the same store again even when her mother protested.

“I know the Sales Associate life is a tough life. You can disrespect me but never my mum.”

When they went in, they chose a different sales associate (male) who treated them like how they would treat other customers.

Through that SA, they managed to get a few products. When they were in the midst of checking out, the initial SA came over to her colleague and “sarcastically said congratulations” to him.

At the end of the video, Amadea said,

“At the end of the day, I’ll do anything to make my mum happy.”

And if you’re wondering how Amadea can afford those designer bags, well, she earns an annual salary of US$110,000 (RM483,230), reported 8 World.
