As a doctor, it’s impossible to save every precious life but the least you can do is provide ‘survival tips’ for a, hopefully, prolonged life. Dr. Rafidah Abdullah has been sharing tips of healthy lifestyle tips but unfortunately, not everyone is a fan of her advice.
Just recently, the “debate” between Dr. Rafidah and celebrity chef Khairul Aming gained Malaysians’ attention. Many are thankful for the doctor’s tips, while others are not fond that Dr. Rafidah had a lot to say about Malaysians’ lifestyles in general. In response to the criticisms, Dr. Rafidah shared what she really thought about it via her Facebook post yesterday (April 7).
“I’m not gaining popularity. I don’t want it.”
In her Facebook post, Dr. Rafidah wasted no time in telling the public that she will continue sharing health tips to promote a healthy lifestyle, which will also focus on awareness and altering the recipes into healthy ones.
She also highlighted the portion of food, which is one of the most important aspects of living healthily.
“I eat everything, including sambal, but in small portion. Control your portion. I prefer to use fresh chillies if I cook sambal.”
Dr. Rafidah later clarified that by doing so, she’s not looking for popularity because that is not her purpose.
“I’m just earning my wage at a government’s hospital.”
She also said she’s not affected by the criticisms toward her opinion and her aurat, which were mostly done by product sellers and cyber troopers.
“Learn to celebrate differences in opinion”
Dr. Rafidah took the time to remind the public that we should learn to accept new things and opinions.
However, Dr. Rafidah also voiced her concern about seeing her fellow colleagues who are starting to get disappointed when many Malaysians refuse to accept opinions and advice on healthy lifestyles.
“Every day we’re looking at complications of chronic illnesess. Every day we’re looking at regrets.”
Salam Jumaat, Rasa umum sudah maklum tentang isu viral komen saya tentang pemakanan. Tidak putus-putus manusia…

We certainly cannot thank you to Dr. Rafidah and other doctors who constantly remind Malaysians of the survival tips. Do you agree with her take on this?
