Just a couple of days ago, Hannah Yeoh called out Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for using his daily press conference as a medium to show off his different shirts and shelf ornaments.

“I urge the Defence Minister to stop his daily conferences if it doesn’t give any substantive announcements that can help the rakyat,” the Segambut MP wrote on Twitter.

“A media conference is not the place to promote clothes or his display rack. With every announcement, the rakyat are becoming more and more confused.”

However, the Defence Minister said in defence that he did not intend to promote his collection on the cabinet shelves, which has been the background of his daily press conferences held at Wisma Pertahanan, reported Berita Harian.

“This is the MINDEF (Ministry of Defence) cabinet that already exists and will not be removed. I do not know what to put in the back. So, I just left it and did not promote it,” he said.

But things don’t seem to add up as different ornaments keep on appearing on the shelf every day, making it seem like Datuk Ismail Sabri had intentionally rearranged the ornaments before his live press conferences.

From these photos, you can see how the shelves behind him almost never looked the same once.

Whether Datuk Ismail Sabri had actually wanted to promote his shelf or not, we will never know. Let’s just hope his future announcements will not confuse the rakyat anymore but will help the rakyat with clear instructions and SOPs during the CMCO.
