In his statement, Namewee insisted that he did not take or carry any drugs, although the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) later confirmed that he tested positive for four illegal substances, and he was arrested after ecstasy pills were found on him.
Namewee also claimed that he contacted MERS999, and that the ambulance took almost an hour to reach the scene after Iris Hsieh, the Taiwanese influencer, was found unconscious in the bathtub of the hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.

Ministry of Health refutes Namewee’s claim
The Ministry of Health (MOH), however, refuted Namewee’s claim and said the ambulance DID NOT take that long to reach the scene.
In his statement to China Press, an official from the MOH confirmed that the Kuala Lumpur Hospital received a distress call about the matter on 22 October. In just 2 minutes, an ambulance was dispatched to the hotel at 12:30 PM, and the vehicle reached the premises at 12:56 PM.
It took the medical team 26 minutes, and not an hour as the local singer had claimed in his statement.

The official also said that the ambulance did not take an hour to provide medical assistance to Iris. Namewee, on the other hand, claimed that he tried to perform CPR on Iris, but to no avail.
Namewee claims trial for drug possession and abuse
Namewee was charged with two counts of drug use under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s Court on 24 October, but he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of RM8,000. According to the charge sheet, Namewee is accused of possessing 5.12 grams of suspected ecstasy in a room of a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
According to Namewee’s testimony, he was in the hotel room with Iris to discuss work matters before Iris went to take a shower. Namewee then claimed he checked on Iris after 30 minutes of silence in the bathroom.
