Just hours ago, a scuffle had broken out between a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officer and a hawker. The incident, which is believed to have taken place at Lorong Bunus 3 in Kuala Lumpur, was recorded by a netizen and soon enough, it went viral on Facebook.

Based on the 45-second video, a DBKL officer can be seen lying on the ground while struggling to gasp for air. He was suffocating and coughing his lungs out. It was believed that the officer had been sprayed with a pepper spray by someone.

From the short video, a man could be heard asking, “Who sprayed it?”

And another person said (probably referring to the hawker), “It was the same kid who sprayed it”.

After the officer collapsed on the ground, a few Civil Defense personnels rushed to his aid as he was clearly suffering. He could barely stand and they had to carry him out of the scene.

Here’s the video.

Two pictures that were taken at the scene also went viral along with the video. In one of the photos, a young man whose face is covered in blood can be seen sitting in front of a policeman while onlookers were standing around. Is he the kid/hawker they were referring to?!

After the video went viral on social media, netizens started weighing in on the issue and gave their two cents.

“First of all, you broke the law. Then you pepper sprayed a civil servant who was only carrying out his duty. I’d say you’ve earned yourself a ticket to the prison,” a netizen said.

“It’s the month of Ramadan, where’s your patience? And what’s with all the violence?” another netizen commented.

Regardless of what the issue is, the pepper spray shouldn’t have been used in the first place. What’s your thoughts on this guys?
