It’s now the month of August which means that everything is Merdeka-themed.

Now, over the past few years, the posters that were unveiled by a lot of government departments were less than stellar, to say the least.

So it seems that this year, DBKL has decided to turn to Malaysians for a Merdeka e-poster and in return, they will be giving out cash to the winners.

In a Facebook post, they say that this competition is only open to Malaysians only and the first prize winner will get RM1,500, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will get RM1,000 and RM750 respectively. 5 consolation prize winners will get RM200 each as well.

So if you’re interested in joining this contest, the theme for this year is Nostalgia Merdeka @ Kuala Lumpur. The e-poster (1080 x 1080px) must be uploaded on a public Instagram account with the hashtag #dbklpostermerdeka and tagging the official DBKL IG account (@dewanbandarayakualalumpur). You must follow the DBKL IG account too!

The poster must be an original work by the uploader and should not contain any sensitive elements such as politics, racism and religion.

This competition will end on 21 August, so if you’re looking to show your skills, you should get started now!
