Nobody wants this to happen. If you’re not taking the Movement Control Order or social distancing seriously, it’s about time that you do.

Covid-19: &Quot; We May Have To Extend Movement Control Order&Quot; Says M'sian Health Director-General - World Of Buzz

Today (19th March), marks the second day of Malaysia’s two-week long Movement Control Order but according to Director Health General, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, that period is subject to change if Malaysians refuse to cooperate. “There’s only a small window of opportunity for Malaysia to stem the rapid spread of #COVID19, if we miss it, chances are the third wave will be unleashed,” quoted Dr Noor Hisham in a tweet before making a bold statement:

“We may have to extend the Movement Control Order and as to whether we succeed or not, it’s up to you.”

The Director General then proceeded to echo the words of PM Muhyiddin during his live stream announcement yesterday night (18th March), advising the public to just “stay at home”. Along with the tweet, Dr Noor Hisham posted a worrying graph that indicated how Malaysia’s Covid-19 trend is horrifyingly similar to Italy, a nation that has now become the second highest affected country by the deadly viral outbreak as it recorded 475 deaths yesterday alone- the most fatalities it’s ever tallied in a day.

During the live stream last night, PM Muhyiddin urged all Malaysians to follow by the procedure of the Movement Control Order as many citizens could still be seen eating at coffee shops, going out and gathering in groups despite warnings given to practice social distancing and remain in our respective homes.

What will it take for Malaysians to take this situation seriously?
