Despite knowing about her terminal illness, a man in China insisted on marrying the love of his life and vowed to take care of her any way he could.

He kept his promise.

The pair met at a friend’s wedding in 2016, and both had no idea how important they would be to each other.

Despite initial rejections, 30-year-old Deng Youcai married the cancer-stricken Ye Meidi in 2019 and told her that he would treat her in the best way, which you can hear in this Douyin video. Deng believed that Ye and he could defy all odds and fight the cancer together. Two years later, the pair was blessed with a daughter, but in 2022, Ye’s glioma – a brain tumour – flared up.

Before falling into a coma, Ye told Deng to let her succumb to her illness because they couldn’t afford the treatment.

Two surgeries later, Ye remained in a vegetative state, and the doctor stated that the chances of his wife being able to move again were low, and Deng was close to giving up. He discharged his wife from the hospital and brought her home, where the woman’s family came to say goodbye. Deng filmed the moments and posted them on social media.

Little did he know, the posting was going to change his life.

The posting inspired and moved millions, and many of them donated to Deng so that he could afford the medical bills. The man brought his wife to the hospital again to receive treatment, and for many months, Deng tirelessly took care of his wife by feeding and cleaning her from head to toe, as revealed by a Chinese News outlet.

He sang and danced for his wife every day

Deng would sing and dance for his wife every single day, believing that it could somehow “wake” her up, and one day, Ye miraculously woke up.

Two months later, Ye could finally speak, and the first words she uttered were “thank you” to the man who cared for her throughout the whole time.

Ye can now walk by herself and even manages a street stall, based on the postings on the pair’s Douyin account.

“I do not want her to leave us. We are still so young. Even if she cannot look after herself, she still has me and our daughter,” Deng said in one of the posts.

A marriage is eternally blessed when you’re married to the right person who believes that it’s both of you against the world when going through a crisis.
