Yep. That is precisely what you think it is. An ear growing out of an arm.

Surnamed as Ji, the patient, was an unfortunate victim of a car crash last year in China, where he lost his right ear to, reported Shanghaiist. Unlike any other victims though, the doctor – Guo ShuZhong, an expert in reconstructive surgeries, would help Ji regain his right ear.

According to NetEase, Guo took a part of Ji’s rib cartilage, shaped it, then proceeded to bury it in his right forearm. (WTF!)

It’s not TOO bad. They are just placing it on his arm temporarily.

What’s left to do now is just to place the ear back to where it should be. That process is expected to take about three to four months while Guo waits for the ear to grow out completely on Ji’s forearm.

I would expect the patient to be wearing long-sleeved tops until then…..Or I can’t imagine the confused stares and surprises he will be getting from people.
