When it comes to Ramadhan Bazaar, frequent visitors, especially those who are huge fans of Nasi Arab will not miss the chance to pay a visit to Chef Ammar.
Just recently, on his Facebook page Najee Mahshar by Nasi Kandaq Runner, a Malaysian YouTuber paid a visit to Chef Ammar’s bazaar in Shah Alam to unveil a truth – is his business not as booming as the past years?
Chef Ammar was quick to deny the claims. Even if he doesn’t, you can see how long the queue is at his stall, with customers patiently waiting to get their respective meals to break their fast. The queue was just as long as the Ramadhan before. However, Chef Ammar had a sarcastic response before denying the claims that his business was plummeting.
“Yes, yes, it’s not doing so good. There’s not many people here,” Chef Ammar said while pointing at the crowd.
“I’m the King, I’m the Godfather”
Chef Ammar, who originally came from Palestine has been in the industry (and in Malaysia) for many years. In the video, Chef Ammar is seen reminding his staff to treat customers well because “all eyes are on him to pinpoint his mistakes”.
“Malaysians have their eyes on me now. They’re waiting for me to make mistakes.”
When asked what’s unique about his Lamb Shank Nasi Arab, Chef Ammar showed his clean and neat cooking method. He also claimed to have used quality ingredients that are certified by the Ministry of Health. Let’s just say, Chef Ammar knows exactly where (and how high) he stands.
“My level is at the 42nd floor of KLCC. I’m not insulting anyone but if you must compare, compare with someone like me, with my standards.”
Chef Ammar also highlighted that he doesn’t mind if anyone is trying to insult or bring down his business. To him, everything will only happen if God allows.
“Like it or not, we (the business) are the founder of Lamb Shank. I’m the founder, I’m the Godfather, I’m the King and I will stay King.”
At the end of the video, Chef Ammar also took the opportunity to thank everyone who has been patronising his business.
To those who have tried Chef Ammar’s Lamb Shank Nasi Arab, are you happy with the food? How long did you spend in the queue?
