A 35-year-old entrepreneur and influencer’s holiday in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, took a disturbing turn when she was allegedly spied on while showering at a homestay.

Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, ACP Azli Mohd Noor, was quoted by Berita Harian as saying that the victim, who’s from Ampang, Selangor, lodged a police report about the incident at 12:09 PM yesterday (Aug 27).

The suspect admitted to recording her

The victim said she noticed a hand holding a mobile phone through the bathroom window of the homestay in Manir, which made her scream and call for her husband.

Azli said the couple then searched the compound before spotting a man in a grey T-shirt speeding away on a motorcycle.

“After that, the victim contacted the homestay owner to report what happened,” he said.

He added that a man, who also worked at the homestay, later met with the victim and admitted to recording her in the bathroom.

Police are still tracking down the suspect

The victim checked the man’s phone but found no video, as he claimed it had already been deleted.

“He even handed his phone over to the victim to prove the video wouldn’t be shared. Police have also taken a statement from the victim’s husband. It’s understood the couple had rented the homestay for four days, from August 25 to 28,” said Azli.

Azli added that the incident took place in a two-storey house with five bedrooms, with the victim staying in the master bedroom.

The case is being investigated under Section 509 and Section 447 of the Penal Code, along with Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. The suspect, believed to be in his 30s, is still being tracked down to assist in the investigation.

According to BERNAMA, the police are now tracking the suspect.
