A Malaysian teacher recently shared one of the challenges of being an educator in the country.

The teacher shared a brief conversation that she had with a family member of one of her students, who had a bizarre request.

The student’s family member ‘kindly requested’ the answers to the exam that was scheduled the next day.

Malaysian teacher shares how her student’s mother asked for answers to the exam

The teacher could only politely decline and told the family member, “Of course, I cannot. It’s an exam.”

The teacher, who suspected that it could be the student themselves who masqueraded as their family member to cheat, checked again with the student, who told her that it was indeed the student’s mother who reached out to the teacher.

“I’ve asked the student. She said it was her mother who wanted me to take a picture of the exam paper.”

The parent just responded with an, “Oh, okay”

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, the teacher, who wished to be known as Nabila, said that the student’s mother simply responded with an “Oh, okay” after her request was rejected.

However, Nabila still provided a little bit of leniency for her students to do their revisions.

“I’ve hinted at the topics that would be assessed in the examination, and shared the tips in the parents’ WhatsApp group,” Nabila told WORLD OF BUZZ.

Nabila also shared that she would usually update the parents with important announcements in the group. However, part of the challenges of being a teacher is dealing with students who don’t complete their homework before the due date.

Nabila pointed out that sometimes, some parents will call her to ask for the Cliff Notes when examinations are just around the corner.

To the teachers out there, what are the challenges you face as educators?
