Here’s some great news for KFC lovers – KFC is introducing a new and easier way to place your orders. According to The Star, the fast-food chain store has started using self-ordering kiosks (SOKs) in their outlets. YASS! No more long waits.

Amanz wrote that the SOKs accept payment via eWallets as well as credit and debit cards, which makes it easier to order food and pay for it (ideally) instead of waiting in a long queue. FYI, the eWallets accepted by KFC SOKs are listed below:

  • Kash Wallet
  • Maybank QR Pay
  • Alipay
  • WeChat Pay
  • Boost
  • TNG (Touch n Go) Wallet

In case you didn’t know, the SOKs will have a touchscreen where you can place your order and the payment will be made “via card reader or QR code system”.

These machines are being introduced to KFC’s outlets in order to help reduce the long queues at the counters. As a little incentive, with SOKs, you have the option to either pick up your order from the counter or have it delivered to your table. Nice!

However, do keep in mind that SOKs are only available at various KFC locations in Klang Valley. Perhaps, they will introduce SOKs all over the country in the near future!

Prior to this, KFC started experimenting with SOKs in Britain in 2001 before introducing them to India in 2012. Their parent company, Yum! Brands, said that they plan to have 5,000 restaurants equipped with the kiosks in the United States by next year (2020).
