It’s no exaggeration to say that the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) is one of the most defining milestones for any Malaysian. That physical certificate is more than just a piece of paper; its significance follows you for life, from securing a spot in university to applying for your first job, and even for career moves decades down the road.

Therefore, should you lose or damage your SPM certificate, it’s important to get a replacement from the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Fortunately, getting a replacement for your SPM is no longer a hassle. The process has been fully digitised, allowing you to apply online and have your new certificate delivered directly to your home

Should you need your SPM or other national examination certificates replaced, here are the steps you need to take:

1. Visit the e-Lembaga Peperiksaan portal here and register for a new account

Besides SPM, you can also request a replacement certificate for your STAM, SPMU, SVM, MPV, MPAV, MCE, PMR, SRP and LCE exams.

4. Select the year you sit for the exam

If you took the exam multiple times, each year that you took it would appear in the list.

5. Check and verify whether the details are correct

You can edit the address if you want it sent to a different location from the one you keyed in when creating your account

6. Select the number of certificate copies you want to receive and whether you want to self-collect at the Lembaga Peperiksaan counter in Putrajaya or have it sent via PosLaju

For SPM certificates, RM30 will be charged for one copy, and the PosLaju option requires an extra RM10 charge.

7. Agree to the 3 acknowledgements and confirmations, and press “Mohon”

You will then be directed to the online payment platform. Settle the payment, and voila, you’re done!

Do note that for the replacement of SPM certificates from 1994 and newer, the processing time is just 1 hour. As for SPM 1993 certificates or older, the processing time is 7 working days.
