If there are any of you who are within vicinity of the Sepang, you might want to take note of this piece of news reported by New Straits Times. Apparently earlier today, a radioactive leak was found at the cargo terminal of Pos Aviation Sdn Bhd, a company that offers ground services to commercial airlines within Malaysia.

The leak led to a massive evacuation of company staff, forcing the company to suspend their operations immediately. A statement released by the company has confirmed that the leak had taken place on their premises.

“As per instruction by Bomba KLIA (KL International Airport Fire & Rescue Service), all occupants have been evacuated from the terminal building and all operations suspended temporarily until further notice,” the company said.

The Malaysian  Fire & Rescue Department have reportedly confirmed that the radioactive leak had happened, but said that it is currently under control.

A Hazardous Materials Management Unit (HAZMAT) has been deployed on the scene to ensure that the leak is properly contained.

We hope that the leak gets cleared up as soon as possible, and that nobody was hurt in this incident!
