BREAKING: PM Approves Additional RM942 Million to Help Consumers Deal With Electricity Bill

In light with the recent issue of overwhelmingly high electricity bills experienced by the majority of Malaysians, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah has announced that the prime minister has agreed that the government will be providing extra help called Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik Tambahan to all domestic electricity in Peninsular Malaysia.

A total of 7.66 million Malaysians will be eligible for this. From that total of consumers, four million domestic users with usage under 300KWJ will enjoy free electricity for the month of April, May and June 2020. Those who use more than 300KWJ will enjoy an RM77 discount for April, May, and June 2020 each month.

If you have paid your bills before, the amount will be credited into your TNB account and will be used to pay your electricity bills from July onwards. TNB has also agreed that they will temporarily halt the electricity termination until 30 September 2020. This additional help amounts to RM942 million.
