A railroad worker became the talk of the town recently for his heroic feats in saving a man from being killed by an oncoming train at Jl Laswi in Kota Bandung, Indonesia

A video of the incident which took place on Sunday (14 May) was captured by a bystander and showed how close the duo was to being hit by the oncoming train.

Train 1

At the start of the 30-second video, a man, who makes a living as a tissue seller can be seen casually crossing the railroad track despite the path has been closed to make way for the fast-moving train.

Despite the train turning on its horns to warn the man, he seemed rather oblivious and continued to walk across the tracks.

Train 3

Almost instantly, the railroad worker, who was standing inside his post rushed to the man to get him out of harm’s way without a second to spare.

The railroad worker then pulled the man away from the oncoming train and thankfully, both men managed to get out of the train’s way and not trip on the tracks.

Following the incident, the railroad worker has been identified as Rangga Novembriantina and he deservedly received an appreciation award from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) or the Indonesian Railways Company for his heroic action.

Rangga 1

In an appreciation post on the company’s official Facebook page, KAI revealed that Rangga has been working for the company since 2015.

Moreover, KAI also shared that this is not the first time he has done such a heroic feat as it’s actually the 9th time he has saved someone from being hit by an oncoming train throughout his career!

Rangga 2

This just goes to show that not all heroes wear capes as there are those like Rangga who don’t hesitate even for one second to risk their lives to save others.

So, what do you guys think of the incident? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
