A nightclub in Puchong was recently raided by the Selangor Immigration Department (JIM) on May 28, around 10PM and was found to have installed double-layered iron doors.

According to Harian Metro, the nightclub, located in Bandar Tasik Puteri, featured double-layered iron doors and multiple hidden exits on its upper floor, designed to help individuals escape during police raids.

75 individuals were detained

Selangor Immigration Director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin said the operation involved 13 officers from the Intelligence and Special Operations Unit of Selangor JIM, led by Mohamed Firdaus Mohamed Abbu Bakar.

“We found double-layered iron doors and several hidden exits on the upper floor, making it difficult for our team to enter. We sought help from the Bandar Puteri Fire Station to break down the doors, which were believed to be locked from the inside,” he said.

Once the fire department gained access, the team successfully secured the premises and detained a total of 75 individuals, all of whom were inspected.

25 were arrested for immigration offences

Khairrul said that out of the 75 individuals, 25 were arrested for various immigration offences, including not having valid passes or permits and breaching the conditions of their immigration passes.

“Those arrested included 11 men from Vietnam and Laos, four Thai women, and two Bangladeshi men, aged between 17 and 50,” he added.

In addition to the arrests, three witness summonses were issued, though no employers were detained during the operation.

“All undocumented migrants arrested are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963,” he said.
