2 premises, hiding behind the identity of hair salons, were discovered to have been offering sexual services in Kuchai Lama and Bandar Sri Petaling.

According to a report by Kosmo, the 2 premises were raided by officers from the Enforcement Division of the Immigration Department (JIM) at about 6pm on Monday (May 26).

Immigration Director-General, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban shared that his department had been conducting intelligence collection activities on the 2 premises for the past 2 weeks, and found that foreign women have been busy serving customers, consisting of locals and foreigners.

“A total of 3 men and 45 women, consisting of Vietnamese, Indonesian, Bangladeshi and Laotian nationals aged between 23 and 35, were arrested for various offences. We also arrested 3 local men suspected of acting as ‘guards’,” he said.

Book through a messaging app

The modus operandi of the premises was to advertise hairdressing services and facial packages for men in addition to offering sexual services.

“Customers can book slots via the WeChat application and choose foreign women from a catalogue sent to customers. The subscription fee is around RM150 to RM250, and the profit from these services is believed to reach RM1,000 to RM1,500 per day,” he added.

Further inspections found that the premises involved had operation hours of 3pm to 2am, and that all the foreign women involved were found to be living in the premises, which provided dormitory-like bedrooms.

“Among the offences identified are no identification documents, overstaying, misuse of permits and other offences that violate the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966 and the Immigration Regulations 1963,”

“All detainees have been placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for investigations and further action.”
