Recently, the Malaysian Meteorological Department predicted heavy rain in several areas of the Peninsular from Sunday (29th October) to Thursday (2nd November), putting several areas at risk of floods.
Now, just like clockwork, the monsoon season has begun with a major downpour in the city, and the floods have started rolling in!
After one of the first heavy rains of the season hit Kuala Lumpur, social media was quickly flooded with photos of the Federal Highway nearly submerged in water.
Based on the circulating photos, it appears that the flood has submerged most of the road near the Bangsar South and Angkasapuri area, on the side of the highway heading towards Petaling Jaya.
Oh, boy. This looks like the start of a horrible rush hour! 🙁
According to an update from Star Traffic, the flood appears to be slowly receding, but check Waze before leaving work just to be on the safe side!
So, if you’re planning to drive home later, take this as a heads up! We suggest taking the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) instead!
