On August 16, the Royal Malaysian Air Force collaborated with the government and brought in 127 Palestinians for treatment in Hospital Tengku Mizan, a military hospital.
Malaysian lawyer and activist, Siti Kasim, however, is not a fan of the decision. In her recent TikTok video @sitizkasim, Siti questioned the government about its humanitarian mission to aid the victims of war in Palestine.
“Do you know those in Malaysian rural areas who don’t have access to medical treatment?!”
In her video, a baffled Siti highlighted the unsolved situation in Malaysia – not everyone has access to medical treatment, especially those in rural areas who are still having difficulties travelling to the nearest, available medical centre.
“They don’t have transport, the roads are inaccessible! We must care for our own people first! You don’t know the suffering of our people!”
While Siti is not against the government’s decision on its humanitarian mission, the activist said the government should start with our people first.
“There are people who don’t even have access to education. This is why I think the priorities of our government is totally wrong! This is about being human to your people first! The people in your own backyard!”
Siti continued to criticise the Prime Minister for not taking good care of Malaysians, saying that his decision to aid the Palestinians was nothing but a mere political tool to gain more votes.
“Anwar should be the PM of Palestine”
In her earlier tweets, Siti said she would never vote for the same party again after their over-the-top decision, and said Anwar should’ve been the PM of Palestine.
Siti also questioned Anwar on his decision to bring in victims of war from Palestine when there are other ongoing wars around the world.
As for the experts who defended the government’s humanitarian mission, Siti ended his video by asking,
“What the **** do you know about ‘humanitarian’?”
@sitizkasim BEING HUMANITARIAN?
On Friday evening (August 16), the Royal Malaysian Air Force safely landed in the Subang Airport with a total of 127 Palestinians, including kids who were later brought to medical attention. All of them went through a documentation process before they left the airport.
