Anwar: Members of Affected Families of Elmina Plane Crash to Receive Govt Aid

On Thursday (August 17), the nation was shocked to hear about the news that a Beechcraft Model 390 aircraft had exploded into a fireball on impact when it crashed in Elmina, Shah Alam.

Although investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, it was reported that all eight people on board – six passengers and two flight crew as well as two motorists on the four-lane road were killed.

Recently, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim vowed that families of the victims of the private jet crash yesterday will receive financial and social aid from the government.

He told reporters that all federal and state government agencies were told to help the families in any way they can be it monetary or mental health support.

“My deepest condolences first and foremost to the families of the deceased. For now, I want the forensics and DNA tests to be done fast. In order to reduce the burden of these families we will also be handling the burial, and accommodation for the families and for some of them we will help them find jobs,” he explained.
