If you’ve been craving for the famous Hai Di Lao hotpot that opened recently in Sunway Pyramid then you’d know that the queues are crazy long! People have been flooding the restaurant since it opened in March and we made a quick check with the restaurant, who confirmed that they are fully booked until May 31 at least. Wow!

Although you have the option of travelling all the way to Singapore to try it out, there is an easier way to get your fix and it’s much cheaper too! Based on a post by MY Eat X Travel, it looks like you can actually buy instant hotpot from Hai Di Lao at AEON Malaysia and it won’t hurt your wallet.

This “lazy person’s hotpot” was all the rage a while back, and now, it’s back with some of Hai Di Lao’s popular soup bases. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular because you don’t even need a stove to enjoy the delicious soup, and prices apparently start from RM22.50. That’s much cheaper than the restaurant! There are supposed to be seven flavours available but the page says that they only saw four flavours available, as it looks like the other flavours are sold out.

These flavours include crispy beef tripe, tomato beef brisket, spicy vegetables, Mala beef, tomato chicken, sour and spicy mixed vegetables and fragrant curry. The package comes loaded with lots of ingredients such as vegetables, noodles and even meat and can easily be eaten by two people or even one (if you’re not willing to share all that yummy goodness!). You just need to follow the instructions and wait for about 15 to 20 minutes for a piping hot meal.

Apparently, Jaya Grocer also sells these easy hotpot meals and WORLD OF BUZZ checked on some online marketplaces to find that a few flavours are available there too at around the same price point. While it may not be exactly the same experience, it’s something to tide you over until you actually get to eat at the outlet itself! There’s no mention of which AEON or Jaya Grocer outlets stock this hotpot but you can try your luck at the outlet closest to you!

So, who’s up for trying this instant hotpot? Don’t forget to jio us along, okay!
